Gender Differences: USPTO Patent Bar & Wysebridge

In 2014, Saurabh Vishnubhakat published a review analyzing the gender differences in the USPTO Patent Bar Exam:

Here’s a few of the details:

69% of Patent Practitioners are Male
18% of Patent Practitioners are Female
12% Unknown

This got us at Wysebridge thinking…where we do we stand compared the USPTO numbers on the scale of gender diversity within our own students and test takers?

We ran some analytics on our own population of users, and this is what we found:

Over 80% of Wysebridge Patent Bar Review users are under the age of 54, the majority are between 25-34. AND, over 30% of Wysebridge Patent Bar Review users are female.
